Garnish School of Sound is a Music Production School specialising in music production courses for producers, songwriters and DJs who want to take their music production, programming or mixing skills to the next level, from accomplished professionals who want to brush up or learn the latest software but don’t want to read painful manuals or trawl through 1000s online videos, to two Logic courses for serious beginners who want to take their first steps to make their own professional sounding music productions.
“Being on tour most of our life means there’s not enough time to make records let alone read manuals and learn new bits of kit. Garnish gave us a tour of his Komplete Sound Design workshops and I was blown away with the amazing usable textures you can get out of Kontakt, from the most basic of source sounds. The manipulation of the audio is incredible – really inspiring and the timing is perfect as we’re in the middle of our album! I previously kept away from Native Instruments stuff because I didn’t like the quality of the audio engine but now it may be worth having another look at (or rather listen to) again. Workshop numbers are restricted to four so learners get as much important one to one time with their tutor as possible and the format can be individually tweaked as the course goes on ensuring there are no issues with differentiation.
“As a songwriter/producer I relied on engineers for recording and mixing if I wanted to get my tracks sounding like masters. I always wanted to do more myself but struggled to learn anything watching an engineer zip around Logic at 1000 mph! Then I found Garnish School of Sound and did their mixing workshops. We covered everything form using busses properly, EQ, compression and using mastering plugins. We even covered guitar and vocal recording techniques so all the live stuff I mix in now sounds so much better. Learners bring in their own Macbook because they will be tweaking and personalising their own preferences, key commands and working environments throughout the courses with the guidance of their tutor. In music production schools and colleges, most learners prefer to work on their own workstations for this reason. Of course this means the price of the courses are less as there are no in-house school computers.

Courses take place in The Lab and crash courses and private tuition are also available on request as well as the music production courses at this unique music production school in London.
